New patients
Your First Visit
Every first appointment at our Saco office follows the same path: forms, a consultation with Dr. Brent Reiche, an examination, and a plain-English report of what he found. Nothing is done without your consent.

Your first appointment, step by step
Not every step applies to every patient — X-rays depend on your condition, and the first treatment is your choice.
Patient forms
Our receptionist welcomes you and asks you to complete our patient forms. They give us your health history and information about your condition. You can fill them in online before you arrive.
Consultation
You sit down with Dr. Brent Reiche to discuss your health-related problems, your concerns and the potential treatment options. This part is for him to learn about you, your condition and what you want out of care.
Examination
A complete chiropractic examination testing your reflexes and flexibility, along with standard neurological, orthopedic, postural and physical tests.
X-ray studies
Depending on your specific condition, we may take X-rays. They help us develop an effective treatment plan and alert us to any serious spinal conditions.
Report of findings
Dr. Reiche gives you a detailed report of everything found and answers your questions before you commit to anything.
Treatment
At the end of the appointment you can choose to have your first treatment. It may include spinal adjustments, physical therapy and/or soft tissue massage.
Wellness program
Before you leave, the doctor suggests things to carry on outside of treatment — ice or heat, positions and activities to avoid, exercises and stretches.
Your report of findings answers three questions
Once the information is collected and the examinations are done, Dr. Reiche sits down and answers the things everyone wants to know.
- How can you help me?
- How often do I need to come in?
- What will my treatment cost?
Your wellness program
Prior to leaving, the doctor will suggest a wellness program to carry on outside of treatment. If you are in pain when you first come in, that may mean ice or heat application instructions, certain activities or positions to avoid, and exercises or stretches to do at home.
Everyone is different, so every plan is different. The purpose is to help you achieve good spinal alignment, a healthy diet, exercise, and a positive mental state.

Before you come in
Do I need to fill anything in before I arrive?
It helps. Our new patient health history form is available on the online forms page, so you can complete it at home rather than at the front desk. If you would rather do it when you get here, that is fine too.
Will I have X-rays taken?
Not necessarily — it depends on your specific condition. Where X-rays are taken, they help us develop the most effective treatment plan and alert us to any serious spinal conditions.
Will I be treated on the first visit?
You can be, if you want to be. At the conclusion of the initial appointment you can choose to experience your first treatment, which may include spinal adjustments, physical therapy and/or soft tissue massage.
What if chiropractic is not the right answer for my problem?
Dr. Reiche will say so. After reviewing your health history, your goals, your spine and any X-rays, he will notify you if your condition requires care with other providers.
What is it going to cost?
Cost is one of the three questions your report of findings answers. Most insurance plans are accepted and our staff will verify and explain your benefits before treatment, at no charge — see payment options.
